Here is the recording of the live painting class from 22 March 2025

Daffodils. Oil on panel. 8x10 inches

Dear Subscribers,

The video above is a recording of the live painting class from 22 March 2025. The first three hours include my commentary, and a transcript is also provided —though it is autogenerated and may contain errors. The final hour of the video has no audio, as it was completed after the live session and is played at 2× normal speed.

Below are screenshots showing various stages. The entire painting took approximately four hours to complete.

At the end of the last class, I received a query about purchasing the demonstration painting. I thought it would be a nice opportunity to offer my subscribers the chance to acquire this daffodil painting through an auction-style system.

If you're interested in purchasing it, please contact me privately via my website. Click the button below to access the contact form and send me a message with your bid.

I will consider offers starting from £100 GBP / $130 USD/ €120 EURO. The highest bidder after 14 days will secure the painting, and I will contact them directly by email.

The next live class will be on Saturday 26 April, starting at 5pm UK time (note that the clocks go foward in the UK on the 30th March). The link is at the very end of this email for paying subscribers.

I've had a query about running the live class at a different time to better accommodate those in other time zones. I'd like to gather feedback on what times would suit those interested in joining the live sessions, with a view to occasionally adjusting the start time.

As most of my subscribers are in the USA, I initially chose 5pm UK time, which translates to 12pm on the East Coast and 9am on the West Coast. The most challenging time zones to accommodate are Australia and nearby regions. A start time of 2pm UK time would mean 9pm in Australia and 9am/6am in the USA.

If you're interested in joining a future class, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what times would work best for you.

The classes are typically about 3 hours long. Zoom login details are below, and you can join or leave at any time. If you can’t join for any reason or miss part of the session, I will be recording it and publishing via my newsletter and Substack afterwards. The classes are informal and an opportunity to chat about any aspects of painting that interest you.

I hope you find the recording interesting and look forward to seeing you in a future class!

Happy painting,

Alex
